100 word challenge week 1

 Hello readers

It was dark and rainy, I was walking on the road. I saw a light at the distance and I walked there then saw a cave, The cave was really big and there was a long bridge leading me somewhere. I went wherever the bridge leaded me and saw a button on a rock I pressed the button. It was less then a second maybe half a second but it changed everything. When I walked out of the cave the whole world was really beautiful and was really bright. I suddenly! was flying back home. It was really warm inside.

Stand Up A history of protest in New Zealand

Hello readers

Today In my blog I had to read this book In my Chromebook called Stand Up A history of protest in New Zealand. After I read the book I had to answer some questions.

Here are the questions:

1. What is the name of the law that ensures we have right to protest in NZ? The new Zealand bill of rights act 1990

2. When did the soldiers invade parihaka? 5 November 1881

3. how many women signed the Women's Suffrage petition? over 25,000

4. what is NZ's most famous hikoi? The great strike 1913

Protest means: a statement or action expressing disapproval of or objection to something.

Vocabulary words:

Suffrage: the right to vote.

Union: an organised group of workers that negotiates with employers for better pay and working conditions.

Watersider: a person who works on a wharf.

Choose one of the protest in the article and summarise it in your own words:

Parihaka:

Parihaka is one of New Zealand's first big protest. Its a Kakahi in Taranaki. The Maori people that lived there wanted the government to stop taking their land for the Pakeha settlers. When the soldiers invaded parihaka on 5 November 1881, but Maori didn't fight back. The government did apologise to the parihaka people for its action.

When did I read this article: I read this article 27 July to 28 July

What did the article remind you of: This remind me of Greta Thunberg

Have I ever seen or been involved in a protest: No

Imagine: you are involved in a dispute with your boss, and the government introduces laws to punish you. One of these laws makes it illegal for people to give you food, even though you have no money.

How would you feel in this situation? I would feel really bad.

What would you do? I would talk to the government about this.

Was the watersiders protest successful? I think yes.

Why is being (Cyber smart) important to school and learning?

 Hello readers

Why is being (Cyber smart) important to school and learning?

I think Being Cyber Smart is important for school and learning because you can do stuff the right way and it helps us with our learning. Cyber Smart is teaching you how to do things safely and not the wrong way. Like they can teach you how to use your Chromebook safe and how to have school appropriate stuff in your Chromebook.

Student Task: Music through the Decades

 Hello readers

Today I had to publish my Student Task: Music through the Decades in my blog. It was a slide I had to do. There was decades on their and I had to research some questions like Who were some famous musicians of the time, What musical genre was popular/new,  A video or audio recording of a song from this decade, Any songs that were re-released during this decade, An iconic or fashion image from that decade. I had to write at least a paragraph about it. After that I had to change the colour of the background and basically i had to make It look better not boring.

here is my slide:

Butter Chicken

 Hello Readers

My Favourite food is butter chicken because it has a really good taste to it. I love the flavours they add in it. I hope I can one day make one myself at home. I like it with rice because it gives more taste into it. Me and my family always go to this restaurant and eat butter chicken.

I also like it because the chicken inside the soup is yum.

Wants

 Hello readers

I think pets are not important because They are really expensive and they take up much space in your house. They sometimes make alot of noise and they need food and sometimes they make a huge mess. If your pets die then you won't have pets anymore and some people waste money and buy it again.

A Example is pets are really expensive. Because you have to pay for there food,Injections and much more. For a example say your late for school or work and you have to feed your pet it may take a while so pets aren't that important to have. Thats why pets are not important.

CARR stamps encourage students to make positive choices?

Hello readers

Should CARR stamps encourage students to make positive choices? I think CARR stamps should encourage students to make positive choices because its the right thing to do and if you do the right thing it is show the CARR values Commitment, Achievement, Resilience and Respect.

An Example is if you make the right choice you will get a CARR stamp and maybe one day you will have 100 CARR cards full. I like getting stamps and giving full Stamped CARR cards to the teacher. That's why I think CARR stamps encourage students to make positive choices.
