Reflection

 Hello readers


1. An example how you show each of the CARR values in your classes? 

in WGA or hurumanu I sometimes finish my work quickly and maybe sometimes i dont talk.

2.  An update on how your art kete is going: what is your project, what are you working on?

in art kete my project is fence stitching It's not that boring and I am nearly finish on my stitching I'm doing.

3. An honest reflection of how you self-managed when there was a guest teacher.

I was listening to the teacher really clearly

4. set yourself a goal  for the last week of school next week?

My goal is to be more focus on my work and not talk.

Neutralisation

Neutralisation

hello readers


Aim: to look at the pH scale and Neutralise and alkaline substances using Univeral Indicator.

Equipment:

Universal Indicator

1 M HCl ( Hydrochloric Acid)

1 M NaOH (Sodium Hydroxide)

4 Test tubes

Test tube rack 2 plastic pipettes

method:

  1. Take a test tube rack with 1 boiling tube at each end of the rack and 4 test tubes.

  2. Half Fill the boiling tube at one end with Sodium Hydroxide.

  3. Half fill the boiling tube at the other end with Hydrochloric acid.

  4. Fill each test tube with 5 drops of Universal indicator.

  5. Using the pipettes you will add drops of the acid or alkaline to the test tubes to make colours of Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet.

  6. DO NOT MIX UP THE PIPETTES

Litmus Paper

 Hello readers


Litmus is a tree lichen fungi and is made into small paper strips or a liquid for testing acids or alkaline.

  1. Blue Litmus paper determines if something is acidic. It turns red in solutions with a pH less than 7.

  2. Red Litmus paper determines if something is alkaline. It turns blue in solutions with a pH greater than 7.

Materials:

  1. Red Litmus paper

  2. Blue Litmus paper

  3. Sodium Hydroxide

  4. Hydrochloric acid

  5. Pipette

  6. 4 Test tubes

Steps:

  1. Rip the litmus paper in half and put half in each test tube.

  2. Add 3 drops of hydrochloric acid to the blue litmus paper in test tube 1.

  3. Add 3 drops of hydrochloric acid to the red litmus paper in test tube 2.

  4. Add 3 drop of Sodium Hydroxide to the blue litmus paper in test tube 3.

  5. Add 3 drops of Sodium Hydroxide to the blue litmus paper in test tube 4.

What is a Acid?

An acid contains Hydrogen atoms that break off to react with a substance. An acid (HA) is a solution that breaks up into: H+ and A-.


Materials:

1. red cabbage

2. beaker

3. Bunsen burner

4. pipette

5. sodium hydroxide

6. Hydroponic acid

7. test tubes

8. paper towel

9. test tube rack

10. water

Baking Soda-Sience

 Hello readers


My 10 points about baking soda.

1. Remove scuff marks on the walls

2. Under arm deodorant.

3.Clean the sink

4. Mould remover.

5. General cleaner

6. Kitty litter box cleaner.

7. Oven Cleaner

8. Remove Hair gunk.

9. Rug cleaner

10. Cloths cleaner

Recipe for sherbet:

1 tsp of powdered drink crystals (eg Raro)

1/4 tsp citric acid

1/2 tsp baking sugar

1/4 tsp- baking soda

Put all ingredients into a zip lock bag, stir, and enjoy.

Materials:

1.  Cup 

2. Spoon

3. Mixer

Steps.

1. Put Raro in the cup

2. Then put citric acid

3. Then put icing sugar

4. Then put baking soda

5. Then mix all and enjoy only if it is not sour.

sometimes if it is sour then you can put water and drink it :)
